The Importance of Diet

Autism comes with many restrictions including those of diet. Along the natural allergies and intolerances my sister has, autism make it harder for her to digest foods containing gluten, diary, and high sugar. Although these can and often do develop outside of autism, autism can bring with it more problems along with just not being able to eat it.

My sister, of course, does not know that she can’t really eat these foods. She does, however, sometimes accidentally when she does get her hands on them, she will eat them without a second thought. Later, though, it gets bad, stomachs ache, pain, hyperactive, lack of energy, and more can result from her consuming these foods,my parents kept her on GF/CF diet for so many years and continue to do so. Her behavior can change to from being aggressive, timid, and cranky. There is a wide array of problems. Remember, she cannot connect the food to her problems.Food really impacts every body how it functions.
